BNP Paribas Asset Management has announced the appointment of Christophe Bonnefoux as Chief Data Officer,  a newly-created role based in Paris. Having joined on 22 January, Bonnefoux will be reporting to Fabrice Silberzan, BNPP AM’s Chief Operating Officer.

The creation of this new role is a key step in our ambitious data management plan, which will benefit our clients, along with other initiatives in the areas of artificial intelligence and digital development”, said Fabrice Silberzan, Chief Operating Officer of BNP Paribas Asset Management, “The areas for which Christophe is responsible are key to the future of our company, and his extensive experience, including knowledge of digital challenges and big data will be of considerable benefit.”
Bonnefoux will be responsible for data management, which includes determining the strategic direction of data integrity and quality, defining the data quality management framework, and promoting and leveraging the usage of data management tools.

With over 20 years’ experience in data and business analytics, Christophe Bonnefoux was chosen to make data management a center of excellence across the BNP Paribas Asset Management. With a clear roadmap ahead, Bonnefoux will:

– Sponsor of Data Hub BNP AM,
– Develop the Data Experience to maximize the end-user satisfaction,
– Develop the Data Culture in a holistic & end-to-end service,
Prior to joining BNPP AM, Bonnefoux was Director of Data & Business Analytics at Accenture Digital, where he worked for 6 years based in Paris. At Ernst & Young, he was Senior Manager for 9 years. At both companies, he advised management committees on their data and business analytics strategies.
In late 2017, BNP Paribas Asset Management has appointed industry veteran Neil Johnson as Head of US Institutional Business Development to help the company develop its strategy with asset owners in all market segments as well as the US product strategy.
Also in 2017, BNP Paribas Investment Partners appointed Guillermo Felices, former Barclays, to the newly-created position of Senior Market Strategist within its Multi-Asset Solutions team. Felices was hired to generate emerging market asset allocation research and identify valuable ideas within asset classes such as fixed income, equities, currencies, and commodities.
