Bitfinex, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world has announced the release of a FIX (Financial Information eXchange) digital asset gateway.
The FIX gateway is a result of a partnership with Connamara, a provider of matching engine technology for startups and frontier exchanges. The two teams together developed an open-source solution for professional traders, brokers, and institutions, wishing to enter the digital asset markets.
Financial Information eXchange (FIX) is an industry standard electronic communications protocol that facilitates data transfer between financial institutions. This common language reduces the time and effort required by institutional traders to connect to Bitfinex or any other digital asset liquidity provider.
Connamara Systems is a proven expert in FIX protocol. Daniel Curry, Head of Business Development at Connamara, commented:

Earlier in February, Bitfinex announced the first high-performance decentralized exchange, to be built on EOS.IO technology. EOSfinex combines the scalability and speed of EOS.IO with Bitfinex’s industry-leading expertise to deliver an “on chain” exchange designed to offer a fast, transparent and trustless platform for the trading of digital assets.
Bitfinex has recently announced the appointment of Peter Warrack, an anti-money laundering veteran, as Chief Compliance Officer. The appointment of Peter Warrack greatly expand Bitfinex’s AML capabilities in the cryptocurrency space. The trading platform deals over $1.2 billion volume a day and provides peer-to-peer financing, OTC and margin trading across a number of digital assets.
