WHO: Eric Stockland joins BMO’s Electronic Trading Division as Managing Director. With nearly 20 years of experience in trading, capital markets technology and exchange operations, Eric was most recently the Chief Strategy Officer at IEX. Prior to IEX, he was an execution consultant at KCG, a proprietary trader at GETCO, and began his career at Archipelago (now NYSE Arca).
WHAT: As Managing Director, Electronic Trading, Eric will:
- Develop differentiated electronic trading solutions for BMO’s institutional clients using his quantitative skills and experience in capital markets and algorithmic trading
- Create new and deepen existing client relationships by leveraging his connections with institutional asset manager
- Work with BMO’s development teams to improve products and develop new initiatives
- Represent BMO as an authoritative subject matter expert within quantitative market structure
WHY: Eric’s appointment is a testament to BMO’s commitment to invest and develop innovative electronic trading solutions. The addition to the growing electronic trading team comes on the heels of BMO Capital Markets acquisition of Clearpool Group. Eric is a respected practitioner and thought leader in the industry who will help transform BMO’s institutional offering.
