BANGKOK, November 5, 2019 – The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has revealed that among candidates to win the Business Excellence Awards category at SET Awards 2019, to be held on November 26, 2019, are 12 CEOs and 71 listed companies, while 48 listed companies have been nominated to win the Sustainability Excellence Awards category.
Jointly hosted by SET and Money & Banking magazine for the 16th year this year, the announcement and award presentation ceremony aim to recognize companies, securities companies, asset management companies, financial advisory companies, and CEOs of companies listed on the Thai capital market with excellent and outstanding performances in various areas. SET President Pakorn Peetathawatchai said that SET Awards is one of the most prestigious awards in the Thai capital market, underling SET’s effort to boost the capital market’s competitive capabilities at international level. Two categories of awards namely SET Awards and SET Sustainability Awards will be combined in one event and presented to listed companies with outstanding potentials and qualities, while being role models for others. This is in line SET’s ‘To Make the Capital Market Work for Everyone’ vision, aiming at enabling all sectors to grow strongly and to become a major force to drive the Thai economy and society.
Santi Viriyarungsarit, Editor-in-Chief of Money & Banking magazine, the SET Awards co-host and one of the distinguished judges in the SET Awards 2019 said that each year all judges admire continuous growth of listed firms with increasing excellence in performance, competitive capabilities and adaptability in the ever-changing economic and financial landscape.
SET Awards 2019 are divided into two categories: Business Excellence and Sustainability Excellence. The Business Excellence category consists of seven awards: 1) Best Investor Relations Awards, 2) Best Innovative Company Award, 3) Best Securities Company Awards, 4) Best Asset Management Company Award, 5) Best Company Performance Awards, 6) Best Deal of the Year Award, and 7) Best CEO Awards and Young Rising Star Award. The Sustainability Excellence consists of three awards: 1) Best Sustainability Awards, 2) Highly Commended in Sustainability Awards, and 3) Rising Star Sustainability Awards.
The SET Awards 2019 judging committee consists of Chaiyawat Wibulswasdi, Maruey Phadoongsidhi, Seri Chintanaseri, Santi Viriyarungsarit, Yuth Vorachattarn, Patareeya Benjapolchai, Teeranun Srihong, Pakorn Peetathawatchai, Manpong Senanarong, and Krisada Sektrakul with Amnouy Jiramahapoka as the committee’s secretary.
In addition to these, companies or individuals who have retained their excellence in respective areas for at least three consecutive years will be presented with honorable achievement awards.
