Coinsquare announces Martin Piszel as CEO, Stacey Hoisak as President and CLO

The Board of Directors of cryptocurrency trading platform Coinsquare has hired Martin Piszel as the Chief Executive Officer, with Stacey Hoisak assuming the role of President and Chief Legal Officer.

Martin Piszel, who will also join the Coinsquare Board of Directors, is a trading industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the capital markets and electronic trading sectors, most recently as Head of Corporate Development at Tradelogiq Markets Inc.

Jason Theofilos, Chair of the Board at Coinsquare, commented: “Coinsquare is entering a new phase in its development and growth as we move ever closer to regulation and to strengthening our position as Canada’s leading digital asset trading platform.

Martin Piszel joins Coinsquare from TradeLogiq. Prior to that, he served as Head and Managing Director, Alternative Execution and Prime Brokerage at CIBC World Markets, and as a member of the Bank’s Equities Management Committee.

Piszel also co-founded Alpha ATS and exited by selling to the Toronto Stock Exchange (TMX). Then, he went to be Vice President, Sales and Marketing at E*Trade Canada.
