Capital.com secures Industry Veteran & Former BBC Radio Presenter as Chief Market Strategist

capitalDavid Jones, a former BBC radio presenter has joined Cyprus headquartered Capital.com, an online retail Fx broker as its Chief Market Strategist. Jones has become popular face in the Fx industry with his daily morning show Wake Up To Money and is not an alien to the Forex brokerage industry.

Started his career in the 2000s with Shares Magazine covering the Forex, CFDs and the spread betting industry. After spending two-years covering the forex brokerage industry as a journalist, he moved on to work with CMC Markets as derivative dealers. During his time in CMC Markets, he was elevated to Chief Market Strategist and was responsible for client education, market commentary, and public relations. In 2007, he moved on to join IG Group as Chief Market Strategist, on a similar role what he held at CMC Markets.

His association with IG Group came to an end in 2013, and from there on he started to write technical pieces on forex market as a freelance writer, to Shares Magazine. In 2015, he started with a new role as a BBC radio presenter where he hosted the markets segment of the Wake Up To Money program which ran until late-2017.

His appointment at Capital.com also marks a reunion of a sort with newly appointed CEO Ivan Gowan. The two were working in IG Group for a number of years and now both are based in company’s London office.

David’s appointment will also help Capital.com to strongly focus on its client education initiative to attract new and budding traders to fuel its growth. It recently announced the launch of an education app, Investmate which provides educational material to new traders allowing them to learn basics of forex trading, derivatives, CFDs and risk factors involved in trading.
