Commonwealth Bank CFO Rob Jesudason Resigns to Join Cryptocurrency Giant

BlockoneCommonwealth Bank chief financial officer Rob Jesudason has left his role to become Chief Operations Officer and Group President at Block.one. Block.one is the developer of the EOS token, the world’s fifth largest cryptocurrency.

Jesudason served as Group Executive, Financial Services and Chief Financial Officer at The Commonwealth Bank of Australia. A role in which he oversaw group finance, audit, treasury, security, property and investor relations. Jesudason will take up the role at Block.one later in the year following his notice period.

The EOS token is one of the worlds fastest growing cryptocurrencies. Similar to Ethereum, developers can build applications on EOS. Owning EOS coins allows for a claim on server resources. A developer needs to hold coins to use the EOS blockchain.

EOSRob Jesudason was excited at the prospect of where both blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are headed in the future. That ultimately led him to take on this new opportunity.

“Blockchain will have a transformative impact on most industries in the coming years and will redefine operating models by streamlining businesses, while also reducing cost and risk,” said Jesudason.

“Block.one’s technological innovation enables fast, low-cost, and scalable blockchain performance and is laying the groundwork for mass adoption of these new technologies.”

The growth of the EOS token has been fast and it now stands as the fifth largest by market capitalisation valued at $12.8 billion. It’s that sort of growth that Jesudason wants to build on.

“The market’s strong response to Block.one’s approach has resulted in it being one of the fastest growing organizations in the world, and this will inform our operational growth strategies going forward. I am delighted to be joining Brendan and the team,” said Jesudason.

Block.one CEO Brendan Blumer is thrilled to have Jesudason on board given his background and skill set.
