FlexTrade Extends Integration with IHS Markit’s thinkFolio

thinkFolioFlexTrade has extended its integration with thinkFolio, IHS Markit’s cross-asset investment management platform, in order to provide sophisticated and global cross-asset trading capabilities delivered seamlessly across the entire trading lifecycle.

FlexTrade’s market-leading EMS supports electronic and algorithmic trading across all asset classes (equities, FX, options, futures, and fixed income) and offers access to hundreds of liquidity providers, venues and brokers globally. Combining IHS Markit and FlexTrade’s expertise in the execution and order management system space, allows customers such as Investec and Barings to access a certified interface between both platforms.

Mark Denny, Head of Trading – Global Equities, at Investec Asset Management, commented:

“This is good news. We are celebrating our 10-year anniversary with FlexTrade this year and having thinkFolio closely aligned with FlexTRADER is a powerful workflow benefit to us in terms of scalability and simplifying software upgrades.”

Louisa Paul, Head of Equity Dealing at Baring Asset Management, said:

“A certified interface between thinkFolio and FlexTRADER creates the best of both worlds for us at Barings, by giving us the ability to trade in a seamless manner.”

Andy Mahoney, Head of Sales at FlexTrade UK, said:

“Providing a seamless trading workflow is at the heart of what we do. With multiple existing clients using IHS Markit thinkFolio, it makes sense for us to further strengthen our integration, especially with the growing demand for high-performance, truly cross-asset execution capabilities and a consistent workflow management solution.”

Keith Viverito, managing director for thinkFolio at IHS Markit, added:

“We’re pleased to add FlexTrade as one of our thinkFolio certified EMS providers. The integration will provide our mutual clients with seamless trading experience and supports our strategy to provide a highly flexible and scalable investment management platform to the market.”

In April 2019, FlexTrade partnered with OpenFin to provide interoperability and improved workflow management for buy-side traders using the technology FlexTRADER and its cloud EMS FlexNOW.

The firm has also recently expanded its arrangement with Goldman Sachs in order to strengthen its indication of interest (IOI) liquidity offering.
Also in April, FlexTrade appointed Lak Loi and Vahid Shirani as co-heads of sell-side OMS business development for the EMEA region, thus promoting an expansion of the global leader in cross-asset execution and order management systems while based in London.
In June 2019, the New Zealand Exchange (NZX) integrated FlexTrade’s order management system, Flex OMS, as an independent software vendor in the local market.
