Talos acquired Cloudwall for a better portfolio management system

Cloudwall’s additional expertise in portfolio risk systems further positions Talos at the forefront of portfolio management systems across spot, futures, perps, and options.

Talos has acquired Cloudwall, a developer of digital asset risk technology which will now enhance Talos’s existing portfolio management system (PMS) for digital assets.

For institutional investors, who manage large pools of assets, many with strict fiduciary responsibilities, risk management systems are essential to protect and grow their investment portfolios.

With this acquisition, Talos is investing in institutional-grade risk management technology to help clients assess and mitigate risks unique to digital asset portfolios.

Cloudwall’s additional expertise in portfolio risk systems further positions Talos at the forefront of portfolio management systems across spot, futures, perps, and options.

A PMS that promises to redefine industry standards in managing digital assets

Anton Katz, CEO and Co-Founder of Talos, said: “The acquisition of Cloudwall is a cornerstone in our strategy to enhance and expand our portfolio management solutions. This collaboration is foundational in our roadmap towards delivering an innovative PMS that promises to redefine industry standards in managing digital assets. Our clients can look forward to additional sophisticated tools to support their decision-making and optimize their digital asset portfolios.”

Kyle Downey, CEO and Co-Founder of Cloudwall, commented: “Talos and Cloudwall share a view that in the future all assets will be digital assets. Risk is fundamental to finance, whatever the asset class, and digital assets are no exception. That’s why we’re excited to continue our mission of building the risk management defenses that institutions need to trade digital assets – under the auspices of Talos.”

Last year, Talos acquired D3X Systems to enhance its capabilities in portfolio engineering in support of client-driven systematic investment strategies – including tools for portfolio optimization, strategy backtesting, portfolio rebalancing, and risk and return attribution. Clients can also view and manage their positions across custodians, balances across exchanges, and credit across dealers.

Asset managers, ETF issuers, RIAs, and SMA providers benefit the most from the integration of D3X’s tools with the trading technology from Talos.

D3X’s portfolio engineering SaaS platform provides a wide-range of applications for systematic portfolio design and implementation, including back-testing, factor modeling, optimization, rebalancing, as well as risk and return attribution reporting.

Systematic investors can design and manage customized active or passive investment strategies with unique risk and return characteristics, using institutional-grade techniques pioneered in traditional finance over recent decades.

Talos introduced DeFi liquidity and on-chain settlement

In late 2023, Talos partnered with Uniswap Labs, a prominent name in decentralized finance (DeFi), to introduce decentralized liquidity and on-chain settlement for institutional traders.

The partnership enables Talos clients to access Uniswap’s liquidity in a real-time order book format, utilizing Talos’s advanced algorithmic strategies. Fireblocks supports the integration, providing custody and transfer of digital assets for Talos clients.

Uniswap Labs’ Trading APIs will offer enterprise-grade access to a broad liquidity venue in DeFi, integrating thousands of assets in a familiar format for Talos clients. UniswapX ecosystem, offering enhanced pricing, MEV protection, and gasless swaps, will soon be accessible to Talos clients.
