Sydney Ifergan Appointed AS CMO of ExMarkets

ExMarkets, a digital asset exchange platform owned by Germany based blockchain tech firm Lighthouse Blockchain Technology GmbH recently revealed in an announcement that it has made an addition to its senior level management team. As per update from the firm, it has hired Mr. Sydney Ifergan to serve in role of Chief Marketing Officer with appointment set to come into effect immediately.

SEC Charges New Defendant in $43 Million Tribal Bonds Scheme

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a Los Angeles man for his role in a fraudulent tribal bonds scheme to gain undisclosed control over two registered investment advisers so that he, his partner, and their associates could steal $43 million of client funds they purported to invest in Native American tribal bonds.

Wedbush to Pay More Than $8.1 Million for Improper Handling of ADRs

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Wedbush Securities Inc. will pay more than $8.1 million to settle charges for improper handling of “pre-released” American Depositary Receipts (ADRs). This is the SEC’s 11th action against a bank or broker resulting from the SEC’s ongoing investigation into abusive ADR pre-release practices, which, thus far, has resulted in monetary settlements exceeding $422 million.

Kiwis Take Longer to Choose a Movie Than Check KiwiSaver

Many New Zealanders spend longer choosing a movie to watch than reading and acting on their annual KiwiSaver statement.
A recent survey of 1100 New Zealanders for the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) found four out of five people took up to 10 minutes to choose a movie, but just over half of those questioned spent the same time reading their KiwiSaver annual statement.

Thai Listed Securities Report 4.4 Percent Sales Growth in Q1/2019

BANGKOK, May 27, 2019 – Securities listed on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Market for Alternative Investment (mai) posted total sales of THB 2.92 trillion (approx. USD 91.3 billion) in the first quarter of 2019, up 4.4 percent a year earlier. Their aggregate net profit for the three months from January to March reduced by 9.3 percent over the same period last year to THB 2.53 billion, weighed by lower net profits of Energy & Utilities and Petrochemicals & Chemicals sectors. Food & Beverage and Property Development were among top performing sectors.
