  • Executive Profiles Ilan Azbel – Founder, CEO

    Since the formation of Autochartist in early 2003, Ilan has been intimately involved in the development and marketing of the Autochartist technology. Ilan was appointment CEO of the company in 2008.
    Under his guidance, Autochartist has grown from being a supplier of technical analysis information, to be a company that provides a broad spectrum of automated analytics and content based on technical, macro-economic and fundamental information.
    His current responsibilities include the strategic positioning of the company in the retail trading industry, customer relationship management, development of the product roadmap, and business development.
    Autochartist’s most recent acquisitions include and, two leading industry vendors that provide content and services that are complementary to Autochartist.
    With over 20 years of experience in the field of technology, over 15 years’ experience in financial markets, and an academic background in mathematics and computer science, Ilan is a key strategist and visionary for the company’s growth and success.

    Rob Horton – Co-Founder, Product Advisor
    Rob is a business executive with multi-disciplinary skills across international business development, technical product development, legal, finance and accounts, fund raising and IT. He is an experienced private equity investment professional with a track record of successful investment.
    Having previously played only an advisory role, Rob joined Autochartist in a full-time capacity in 2014 to grow the business development arm of the company, provide strategic insight into product development, and build internal processes.

    Kobus Steenekamp - CTO
    Kobus has been involved in building rock solid systems for Autochartist since 2009. He is passionate about customer delivery and loves getting stuck in solving business problems with the latest technology. He heads up the highly specialized and dedicated tech team at Autochartist, who are responsible for all Autochartist applications. Kobus has an academic background in engineering and has over 20 years of experience in software development.

    Grant Ansell – CFO
    As Chief Financial Officer, Grant brings 18 years’ experience across a diverse range of industries, both local and international. He has worked as a chartered accountant in insurance, banking, investment funds and entrepreneurial start-ups. With his commercially minded and hands-on approach, Grant is constantly looking for ways to improve company performance and streamline processes.
