Iskander’s appointment to new role is a part of the cryptocurrency exchange’s plans to achieve its goal of introducing over 180 fiats across its platform by end of this year. As of writing this article, the exchange is offering services in nearly 24 fiat currencies – a bit far off from its goal of three digit target. The incoming executive is a veteran more than a decade of experience in financial services industry having most recently served in role of Chief Operations Officer at Trading View – a London headquartered provider of market data, charts and trading tools. He spent three years at the UK based firm prior to which he served as Head of Corporate Sales for Wall Street English – Russia for 8 months. Earlier in his career he served as Business Development Executive at B&AM and Lifestyle lets & Lease Ltd for short durations. He spent the first half of his career based out of Russia serving in roles of Key Account Manager at Avesta-Grey, Sales & Trading Analyst – Business Sreda and Senior Manager of Tender Department at EMHO.
Commenting on his new role at the firm, Mr. Malikov said, “Cryptocurrencies and crypto exchanges are a relatively new phenomenon in most CIS and some European states. My overarching mission is to accelerate crypto adoption and work with the leadership to help make crypto more accessible in markets throughout CIS and Europe. I believe crypto is not only here to stay but will also create a new, alternative ecosystem capable of competing with traditional financial products and commonly known asset classes. I hope to popularize this new asset class and help in reducing the friction when purchasing crypto to make the process more seamless. I am looking forward to working with the team and building on this new financial ecosystem to provide people with better products and services and the freedom of choice”. It should be noted that Mr. Malikov’s appointment comes less than two weeks after announcement of appointment of Mr. Josh Goodbody as Director of Europe & LATAM growth and institutional business.
