Eric J. Pan, Director of CFTC’s Office of International Affairs, to Leave the Agency

Since 2015, Pan has led the office that advises the Commission on all international regulatory initiatives, provides guidance regarding international issues raised in CFTC matters, represents the agency in international groups (such as the Financial Stability Board (FSB)), standard setting bodies (such as the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO)) and bilateral fora, and provides technical assistance to non-U.S. authorities.

The World Federation of Exchanges responds to IOSCO’s Sustainable Finance Network

The World Federation of Exchanges (“WFE”), the global industry group for exchanges and CCPs, has today responded to International Organization of Securities Commissions’ (IOSCO) Sustainable Finance Network (SFN) survey, which aims to inform the SFN of sustainable finance-related initiatives taken or planned by securities regulators and market participants, and initiatives taken by international bodies, industry lead groups and standard-setters regarding sustainable finance and how these relate to the role of securities regulators.

LSEG Acquires Beyond Ratings to Integrate ESG Into Fixed Income

Beyond Ratings will sit within LSEG’s Information Services Division (ISD), which also includes FTSE Russell, and will operate as a contained business within the ISD. London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has acquired Beyond Ratings, a provider of smart data and analytics that integrates Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) into fixed income.

At the 44th Annual International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Conference in Sydney, Australia, the Chairmen of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) participated in a signing ceremony on May 15 for the IOSCO Enhanced Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Consultation and Cooperation and the Exchange of Information (EMMoU).

Giancarlo Releases Letter to Quarles on Phase Five Implementation

Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman J. Christopher Giancarlo sent a letter to Federal Reserve Board Vice Chairman Randal K. Quarles concerning Phase Five implementation requirements for initial margin on uncleared swaps, scheduled for September 2020.
