“Exactly eight years ago, on October 26, 2015, ICE announced one of its most transformative acquisitions with our $5.2 billion purchase of Interactive Data Corporation. Chris Edmonds, distinguished as one of ICE’s most skillful operators, will lead our FIDS team to new heights as he joins our team in Atlanta.”
Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., a leading provider of data, technology, and market infrastructure, unveiled a significant change in its top-tier leadership.
Christopher Edmonds, ICE’s current Chief Development Officer, is set to succeed Amanda Hindlian to lead the company’s Fixed Income and Data Services (FIDS) segment. Edmonds will transition this key role to ICE’s Atlanta headquarters, signaling the growing prominence of Atlanta within ICE’s business operations.
ICE’s FIDS segment, the company’s second largest, generated $546 million in Q2 2023 and a striking $2.1 billion for the full year of 2022.
Edmonds has overseen ICE’s Clearing and Risk teams since 2019
Edmonds said, “During the last 13 years, I’ve been privileged to watch how ICE has become indispensable in connecting people to opportunity. Going forward, while we have long applied large language models to our user offerings, their broad adoption will accelerate our ability to deliver them an unparalleled user experience.”
Edmonds, who joined ICE in 2010, has a decorated career within the firm. He managed ICE’s Credit Default Swap (CDS) clearing service during the crucial implementation phase of the Dodd-Frank Act. He later led ICE’s product sales teams specializing in fixed income, commodities, and financial futures from 2013 to 2019. Since 2019, Edmonds has overseen ICE’s Clearing and Risk teams supporting the firm’s six derivatives clearing organizations.
Jeffrey Sprecher, ICE Founder, Chair and CEO, expressed gratitude for Hindlian’s contributions and voiced strong confidence in Edmonds’ capabilities. Sprecher remarked, “Exactly eight years ago, on October 26, 2015, ICE announced one of its most transformative acquisitions with our $5.2 billion purchase of Interactive Data Corporation. Chris Edmonds, distinguished as one of ICE’s most skillful operators, will lead our FIDS team to new heights as he joins our team in Atlanta.”
Elizabeth King replaces Christopher Edmonds in clearing and risk
As Edmonds prepares to assume his new role, Elizabeth King, currently ICE’s Chief Regulatory Officer and President of its Sustainable Finance business, will take on the leadership of ICE’s global clearinghouses and risk management team. King’s vast experience includes a tenure at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and roles following ICE’s acquisition of the NYSE.
Both Edmonds and King will continue to report directly to Sprecher, and the transition will be effective as of January 1, 2024. This change comes at a time when ICE is expanding its product offerings, particularly with the addition of new mortgage data products following its acquisition of Black Knight.
