Intercontinental Exchange and IPC Systems have launched a cloud-based audio solution offering a seamless communications platform for traders and global market participants.
Going by the name of ICE Voice, the audio solution has gone live through ICE Chat, ICE’s instant messaging system for commodities trading.
ICE Voice supports full audio recording with configurable retention settings
ICE Voice utilizes IPC’s Connexus Unigy private cloud platform to integrate persistent, always-on open connections with ICE Chat’s network of over 120,000 users.
The platform supports full audio recording with configurable retention settings, enabling users to access and play back archived calls from any location. By integrating voice and chat logs, it helps streamline communication records for firm-wide or trading desk compliance.
ICE Voice is fully embedded within ICE Chat, designed to enhance workflow efficiency for financial professionals. It combines voice connectivity with trader-specific functionality, such as AI-powered Smart Text Recognition, which converts texts into actionable data via APIs, and Message Blaster, allowing users to send messages to multiple contacts at once.
With ICE Voice, users can seamlessly switch from chat to voice, open calls directly from chat tabs or group rooms, and initiate Voice Blasts to communicate with multiple open connections simultaneously.
“Foster communication throughout the trading process”
Maurisa Baumann, Head of Desktops and Feeds at ICE, said: “We’re pleased to offer a single, integrated platform for chat and voice that was designed to tailor to the workflows of our customers and provide always-on, instantaneous connectivity for traders and other financial market participants. This innovative new solution can foster communication throughout the trading process and offer an easy-to-use recordkeeping tool for both chat and voice communications.”
Tim Carmody, Chief Technology Officer at IPC Systems, commented: “By bringing our industry-leading voice technology together with ICE’s Chat network, we’re offering market participants a single solution for their communication needs. As traders’ needs evolve with changing markets, this robust solution will provide an enhanced trading experience for ICE Chat users and the back-office staff supporting them.”
